Church Logo & Vision

What is our Vision & Core Values?

Vision is what we 'cherish'; Core values are our 'endeavors'. '
Vision
"To become a church that serves our neighbors and embraces the world."
Following Acts 1:8, we aim to serve our community--much like Jerusalem and all Judea--with the Gospel and love by receiving power from the Holy Spirit. Also, we are preparing for reunification with North Korea--our Samaria--and want to embrace all nations--the ends of the earth. "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)
The Ministry Plan of 2022
"Be imitators of God"
Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children (Ephesians 5:1)
The new year 2022 is around the corner. We think some degree of the aftermath of COVID-19 will remain in the new year. Nevertheless, we believe, due to the weakening of COVID-19, that there will be a gradual recovery of our daily lives. Whether with or after Corona, we can expect not only the recovery of daily life but the continuation of certain changes. Still putting safety first (safety), avoiding direct contact (un-tact), and taking full advantage of the digital conveniences (digital). We’ll have to continue them next year to a certain extent. Therefore, we must adhere to the essence of the Church and, at the same time, respond well to changes with proper flexibility.
Even in the era of COVID-19, many people still have a spiritual thirst for worship and so they strongly want to meet and draw closer to God. The many challenges caused by COVID-19 should shake people’s souls and wake them up so that the grace of individual salvation can flow more abundantly into them and the church.
Also, we have to do our best to help, to build up, and to weep with those who are suffering from COVID-19. In the new year, we have to further strengthen good deeds and care for our neighbors as an exercise of faith, confirm solidarity with society as a whole as much as possible in all committees and departments of the church, fulfill our responsibilities, take the lead in caring for lives, and strive for good deeds faithfully so that we can overcome this crisis. We need to build up families better to restore and perfect the role of the family as the backbone and foundation of our faith.
And if possible, we need to respond sensitively to changes in social issues to wisely overcome crises such as anxiety and fear, alienation and loss, depression and meaninglessness, the threat of nonexistence and death-all of which are due to Corona Blues. And put more efforts into the role of church and pastoral counseling and healing ministries so that the courage of existence through faith, relationships, purity, and life through Christ can be strengthened.
In addition, we’ll have to take advantage of the new fields and opportunities of digital ministry catalyzed by COVID-19. Barna Research Group compiled statistics that several years ago, the typical American youngsters between 15 to 23 years old already spends 2,767 hours a year on video media, that is, over 7 hours a day. Statistics show that Fortnite, an on-line video game, is where Americans spend 22% of their leisure time. Also, in Korea, statistics show that the MZ generation spends 242 minutes or 4 hours a day using mobile phone apps. It can be seen that the church can no longer ignore online and video media, and the place where people receive power to be witnesses to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8) is online and the metaverse in this age. Therefore, we’ll have to send harvest workers into this rich harvest time and generation, and we’ll feel the need to further activate the services of online ministries.
Inside the church, members who are experiencing hardships for various reasons should be carefully looked after, encouraged, and built up so that they can renew their vitality and eagerness of faith. In particular, we have to give the next generation our consideration, interest, and active help so that they’ll not experience difficulties in their faith. Also, how we do build the church, which we’ve been thinking about and gathering wisdom for a long time, while appropriately responding to the environmental change of reconstruction around the church-it is an important issue that needs to be addressed. We must pass down the building that contains our love and interest, but also contains the concerns and values of the times, to our children. Before August of 2022, we’ll prepare all necessary works including drawings and then follow legal procedures necessary for construction.
We must not make a vague decision because of the situations of our surroundings, but discern God’s heart, plan, and will so that the whole community would overflow with the joy of faithful construction. The church members must not be divided and conflicted by a few people who insist on their opinions, instead we have to trust and consider each other deeply, so that we’ll build the church together.
We believe that it will be possible in the new year our good and loving God finally make it possible for most of the people to be vaccinated and also to provide remedy medicines so that they can live with COVID-19 like a cold. In the new year, we’ll meet with many tasks that need to be restored in addition to Corona and church construction. It is not without burden, but with the overflowing expectation thank to God’s goodness, we hope to have a blessed and comfortable new year together with the elders we love. We’d like to greet the new year with the subject of “Be imitators of God” and so ask all of you, dear church members, to continue to work hard this year as well, and to work together through prayers and services.

    - We will expand our aid for the missionaries-on-the-field relating to COVID-19 in direct and indirect ways.

III. To imitate God through construction of a church building.
    - We will come to agreement over the architectural plan and space arrangement.
    - We will proceed with various public hearings and seek God's abundant grace on these opinion converging processes.
    - We will proactively visit our kwonsa assembly, our church assembly, our 30s and 40s group, 20s group, and our church education committees to hear their opinions.
    - We will seek God's wisdom for the architectural plan and space arrangement to optimize the education of the next generation.

- Greeting

In the name of our Lord God, we welcome and bless everyone who visits the website of NamSeoul Presbyterian Church.

Our church wishes to serve our neighbors and communities by renewing and saving peoples through God's words and worship.

We especially anticipate that the precious Cross of Jesus not only makes us born again and live new lives but leads those changed by the Cross to heal the sick and to renew our communities.

We'd like to become a church like that, so we ask for your prayers. Also, I wish you to be so blessed as to become such saints.
